In case you're wondering what Trikiwoo is about, the name is actually a TV name, forever stuck in my head. Tricky Woo was a pampered dog on the television show All Creatures Great and Small. Here's a picture of her and her owner, Mrs. Pumphrey. Thanks Mom and Dad for the nerdy public TV upbringing. Without that, I'd have no name for my blog! And I've subsequently learned, Tricky Woo is also the name of a creepy Canadian rock band. Check it out: http://www.trickywoo.org/. You know that got the name from the same source. But they're too cool to reveal it to anyone....
Another cool blog to check out (mine's cool, right?) is http://www.myprontopup.com/ - one guy's obsession with the State Fair and funny stories about his basset hound. Note the to-the-second countdown to the Fair.
I've also recently discovered that Mischke is available on podcast!!! Here's the link: http://mischke1500.blogspot.com. I started occassionally listening to the show at work - One co-worker walked by and said with exasperation "WHAT are you listening to? You're always smiling and it can't be about work!". And then I realized as I was about to tell her, there's just no way to explain Mischke....
Speaking of work, check out my very first webpage: http://www.ncc.commnet.edu - Click on the Access to Education link. The site is for the Foundation's upcoming corporate fundraising dinner. It's not very exciting but you have no idea how proud I am that I finally created a webpage, and now with this blog, whoa....watch out.
Both Lance and my office's close at 1pm on Fridays during the summer, so we've been spending Friday afternoons exploring our neighborhood. Today, we enjoyed a seafood lunch on a deck in the harbor and then laid outside in the sun with Bob. I know, I know...too much time on my hands.

Well, we're hopping the train to Philadelphia on Sunday and then from there to Washington DC to celebrate the 4th on the Mall. Look for pictures next week! Happy 4th of July!!

Cool blog thingie! I vote for more bob tho...
Whoa! CBE's comments would send Lance's Grandma Grace over the edge!! She's real nervous that Lance isn't ready to be a Daddy to a team of little boys should anything happen to their parents--good thing we all know he'd handle the challenge like everything else he's encountered in life with hutzpah, moxie, and grace (not to mention BS-ing his way through till he figured it out!)
Happy 4th.
SOK asked Trikiwoo via email "I was going to ask why you chose Mrs. Pumphry's spoiled dog. Is it because you identify with a little spoiled animal that always got its way in the house? Or is it because you identify with Mrs. Pumphry in that your cats and husband are spoiled by you?"
The boring answer: neither, I just like the name and I had to get out of my head, where it's been residing for 25 years! But, considering the spoiled nature of the real Tricky Woo and the spoiled nature of this Trikiwoo, (and how, despite it, you have to love her because she's so darned cute :-)), well, I'll ask you, does that describe me? Lance will attest to my poutiness - I can be a spoiled pain sometimes, but then I say something funny that makes him (almost) forgive the bad behavior. We were walking into a store in Philadelphia, and a little girl was pouting about wanting to hold something. She had the full-on pouting expression. Her mom said sternly "MINDY, GIVE IT TO ME". Lance didn't hear that part, so I asked him "Did you hear what her name was?" and when I told him, he said "That LOOK on her face, it's totally you!". Perhaps there's more of Mindy in Tricky Woo than Tricky Woo in Mindy.
P.S. Lance had to clue me on to what SOK may refer to, Son of Knute...? And if so, why Son of Knute? Although, now that I think about it, you are Son of Irving. Doesn't quite have the same ring to it....
